Life Was Not Meant To Be A Treadmill

Life Was Not Meant To Be A TreadmillSeptember 3rd, 2008
Do you live your life like it is a treadmill? No matter how much you walk or run, the track just circles around under you and comes up again?
Life was never meant to lived that way. The creator of the universe knew we would make mistakes. He knew we would have regrets. That is why we have Jesus, so we can clean the slate and begin again. You can not travel back in time to fix things. You can not rewind life and do it again differently. There is no way to go back, BUT you can go forward!
Stop running on that memory treadmill. Stop going over and over the past, trying to decide what you did wrong. Stop trying to relive the past. You can’t, you are not the same person you were then because you have learned and changed, and while you are wasting time, your present is being missed! Grab the here and now! Make NOW what you want it to be! NOW is yours! Fill each moment with the things you want to be your new memories!!
Step off that memory treadmill and walk right out the door! A big beautiful world is just waiting for you! Get your running shoes on, the adventure awaits! Hugs, Barbara

Smiled lately?

Smiled Lately?September 2nd, 2008
Have you? Did you smile today? I am amazed at the sour faces Isee when I am out and about. My little children will sometimes ask me why people are so mad. Mad? Humm, then I realized that they are not used to seeing sour faces at home. They are used to smiles. When they see people with-out a smile on their face they think they must be mad. What would my kids think about you?
Smiling can make a difference in a day. Did you know that? It is so true. Next time you go out, try it. Run your own little test. Smile at people. It is amazing, they smile back! Last week I was going into a store. An older man stepped back to let me pass. I thanked him for holding the door for me. “Oh, I had to hold the door for a young lady with such an amazing smile”, he said! Well, I am 45 but I’ll take it! LOL!!
Smile at home too. Your family will pick up the habit! If you want happy children, smile at them! If you want a happy spouse, smile at them! If you have forgotten how, go look in the mirror. Smile at yourself until you look happy! There is something about a smile that says more than words can. If you are saying I love you, I care about you, you are important- smile. It will mean more than words alone. Words can be empty and fake, but a loving happy smile never is. I am smiling at you, are you smiling back at me yet? Hugs, Barbara

It Is Never Too Late!

It Is Never Too Late!August 28th, 2008
Have you ever felt like it was too late for you to change your life? Do you think that too many things have happened, and your goals can not be reached? Maybe you have lost faith that your goals are even worth trying for. Have you ever asked yourself, “Who am I to think I can be a success at anything?”
I will tell you who you are. YOU are the child of a King! The King of the Universe thought you were worth leaving heaven, and dying for. He thought YOU were worth putting a plan in place that would bring him back from the dead, so your life could be wonderful. There is no doubt of your worth.
The only doubt is your faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 When you stop hoping for a better life, you lose the faith you need to carry you into your dreams. When you believe what you see, instead of what God has promised, you lose the ability to reach your goals. No one but you can stop God’s plan for you. No one. Not Satan, not your boss, not the people who think you will not meet your goals. You, and You alone can prevent you from being all that God wants you to be.
Stop looking at the world, and keep your eyes on God. Read your Bible, God tells us over and over that he has wonderful plans of joy for us. He wants us to be successful so that we are in a position to reach others with his message. Get your faith back. Get your faith in God back, and get your faith in yourself back. Then get busy! The world is waiting to see you shine! Hugs, Barbara
